Grandma Perkins Easy Finger Tube Moustache

Happy Father’s Day!
Awhile back I saw a knit finger moustache on the web.
I could not find any crocheted ones.
So I made my own.
Halloween will be here before you know it.
And it’s a quick costume accessory.
Everyone should have a moustache.
Slip it on your finger and put it under your nose.
Very Silly!
It is a very easy pattern.
It can be made in about half an hour.

Size: Fits an adult finger

Materials:
Caron Simply Soft (WW Med yarn):
Skin Color ~14 yds
Moustache Color ~ 3 yds
F / 3.75 mm hook
Yarn Needle for sewing

US Terminology
Gauge:  5 sc = 1”  Not crucial.

Abbreviations:
~ = Approximately
Beg = Beginning

Row 2-15:  Ch 1, Sc across.  Turn. (14)   FO with ~18” to sew at the end of row 15.

Note: This fits my finger.
If you have larger or smaller fingers, adjust the beg-ch count and # of rows accordingly.

Moustache (Moustache Color)
First Side of Moustache:
Ch 8, Ss in 2nd ch from hook.  Sc in next.  Hdc in next 4.
3 Sc in last ch. (Mark the 2nd sc)
Work opposite side of foundation-chain:
Hdc in next 4 chs, Sc in next and Ss in same as first ss.
Ch 2, Ss in the 2nd ch from the hook (Picot made).

Now surface crochet with yarn held underneath:
Ss in the same as the first ss,
then Ss through each of the next 6 chs of the foundation-chain.
One more Ss through the 2nd sc (Green Arrow).  Do not FO yet.

Other Side of Moustache:   Ch 8, ss in 2nd ch from hook.  Sc in next.  Hdc in next 4.
1 Sc in last ch (Blue Arrow).
Turn clockwise to work opposite side of foundation-chain and keep working-yarn under:
            1 Sc in same st.
(Red Arrow: This st will be raised over the mid-section).
Hdc in next 4 chs, Sc in next and ss in same as first ss.
Ch 2, ss in the 2nd ch from the hook (Picot made).

Now surface crochet with yarn held underneath:
Ss in the same as the first ss.
Then Ss through each of the next 6 chs of the foundation-chain.
One more Ss through the ss on the first side (Green Arrow).
FO with ~ 18” to sew.

Insert hook from underside of the last st made,
and pull the yarn end to the back to finish connecting the sides.

Assembly:
Use the yarn-end of the Moustache to tack in place over the center of the tube.  Weave in ends.
Then Use the Tube yarn-end to sew Row 1 to the last Row, matching the stitches of the first and last rows.
Weave in and Voila.
